Full legal content is currently available in English.

Wohaj (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform and services. By using Wohaj, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Introduction

Wohaj is a Qatar-based student achievement and opportunity network. We provide a platform where students can build public proof-of-work profiles and connect with companies, startups, and educational institutions.

This policy applies to all users of the Wohaj platform, including students, company representatives, and administrators.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the information provided through your sign-in method. This may include your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth, or your email address when signing in with a magic link.

Student Profile Information

As a student, you may voluntarily provide additional information to build your public profile, including your full name, university, major, academic year, biography, skills, links to external profiles (e.g. GitHub, portfolio), and other details you choose to share. You control what appears on your public profile.

Company Profile Information

As a company or organization representative, you may provide information about your organization including company name, type, website, description, and contact information. This forms your public-facing company profile and is visible to students and other platform users.

Posts, Achievements, Comments, Reactions, and Applications

Content you publish on Wohaj—including posts, achievements, comments, reactions, and opportunity applications—is stored and displayed according to your chosen visibility settings. Public posts and profile information may be visible to other registered users of the platform.

Usage and Analytics Data

We may collect non-personally identifiable information about how you interact with the platform, such as pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform. This helps us improve the Wohaj experience. We do not sell this data to third parties.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Wohaj platform
  • Display student achievement profiles and company profiles
  • Enable connections between students, companies, and opportunities
  • Calculate and display Aura Points and reputation mechanics
  • Communicate with you about your account, platform updates, and relevant opportunities
  • Ensure platform security, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How Information Is Shared

Public Profile Visibility

Student profiles, posts, and achievements that you choose to publish publicly may be visible to other registered users of the Wohaj platform. Your profile is not publicly indexed by search engines unless you explicitly enable this setting (if available).

Company Access to Applicant Information

When you apply to an opportunity posted by a company, the company representative receives your application message along with access to your public Wohaj profile. This may include your name, university, major, skills, achievements, and any other information visible on your public profile. You should only include information in your profile and application that you are comfortable sharing with potential employers.

Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, such as hosting, analytics, and email delivery services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services we request.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or government agency in Qatar).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by our infrastructure partners (including Supabase, our database and authentication provider). We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Wohaj uses essential cookies and local storage to maintain your authenticated session, remember your language preference, and ensure the platform functions correctly. These are necessary for the operation of the platform and do not track you across other websites.

We do not currently use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide appropriate notice.

7. User Choices and Account Updates

You can review and update your profile information at any time through your Wohaj account settings. You may also delete individual posts, achievements, and other content you have published.

If you wish to delete your entire account and associated data, please contact us at the email below. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain information.

8. Children and Minors

Wohaj is designed for university students and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify users through the platform or via email for material changes. Continued use of Wohaj after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
